This small town event is held on the second Saturday in August which means it can be turned into my birthday bash, too! The festival celebrates the Rush Springs areas local crop of watermelons with watermelon-themed food and activities, carnival rides, tons of awesome vendors, and loads of family friendly fun.

It has grown to become one of the most popular festivals in Oklahoma, attracting over 20,000 visitors each year and serving upwards of 50,000 pounds of juicy, ripe melon to festival-goers. We always load up on tons melons, this Watermelon slush is one of our favorite recipes!
