Have you tried Ravintsara? This essential oil comes from Madagascar, it is steam distilled from the leaves and branches of the tree. You’ll often hear Ravintsara referred to as the “oils that heals” because of its many uses. This versatile oil has a pleasant, clean scent that smells like eucalyptus, but softer. You’ll also find Ravintsara in Raven, ImmuPower, and Sniffleease

How to use:

For aromatic or topical use. Diffuse, inhale, or add to bath water. Apply to crown of head, back of neck, behind ears or inside wrists.

Uses:

🔹Immune Support
🔹Nervous System Support
🔹Cleansing, Purifying Oil
🔹Supports Respiratory System
🔹Supports Skin
🔹Grounding
🔹Supports Mood
🔹Ease occasional tension or nervousness
🔹Motivating – Promotes mental clarity
🔹Supports Muscles

If you have an EOPR 📚 look it up. There are so many great uses. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use Ravintsara:

This soothing soak is a great way to unwind at the end of a long day!

This DIY Chest Rub is an easy, safe way to provide soothing respiratory support. I apply it to the chest and feet. For added comfort apply a warm compress over the chest.

This energizing blend is the perfect way to soothe sore muscles post workout.

If you’re looking to focus and accomplish try this diffuser blend to promote clarity. You can also add this combo to a roller bottle, I’d start with 10 drops each, fill it with a carrier oil, and use it on the go.

What’s your favorite way to use Ravintsara?

Wake Up Your Morning with Cranberry & Lime

Rise and shine sleepy heads!  It’s Tasty Tuesday and we have a new recipe to enjoy! Smoothies are one of my favorite things to make because they allow me to nourish my body during our morning routine (aka toddler madness). I can throw in my protein, gelatin, or Ningxia and I am good to go. They typically hold me over until snack time and there are so many fun variations to try. One of my favorites is Cranberry-Lime (and I suppose it is technically more of a slush because it contains no dairy). Whatever you want to call it, you’ll find it’s superbly tart and it’s guaranteed to perk up your morning routine.

Cranberry-Lime Sunrise

  • Cranberries – ½ cup (I buy my cranberries in bulk and freeze them)
  • Lemonade flavored coconut water or sparkling water – 1 cup
  • Ice – ½ cup (adjust to desired consistency)
  • Lime Essential Oil – start with 1 drop
  • Tangerine Essential Oil – start with 1 drop

Instructions:

Add cranberries, ice, and the liquid of your choice to blender. Blend, adding ice or liquid as needed, to reach desired consistency. Pour into glass cup and add essential oils. Add more if needed and enjoy!

Ten Ways To Scorpion Proof Your Home

Tags

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I love our life in the country. The beauty and quiet is often my sanity. We’re blessed to be surrounded by trees (a rare treat in our part of Oklahoma) and hummingbirds visit us daily. The Mississippi Kites are back and there’s even been a mystery visitor lately. Something has been eating my pepper and tomato plants, you guys! I’ve gone from about 10 plants to just one. I wish I had a camera to capture the antics!

All this beauty and mystery makes life exciting, but among it all is one thing I absolutely cannot tolerate. Every year a few make their way into my house and I’m immediately ready to call a realtor, house for sale, just don’t mind the scorpions! I’ve been researching ways to run off these creepy crawlers and it sounds like they’re pretty darn resilient, but I won’t be deterred. I’m taking every one of these tips and putting them to good use!

Tips to Scorpion Proof Your Home:

  • Clear clutter by cleaning up piles of wood, leaves and debris around the outside of your home.
  • Seal any cracks or crevices they could enter through. I read that they can sneak in cracks the width of a credit card.
  • Spray your doors, windows, and home exterior often. We will talk making a safe, all natural DIY Spray later.
  • Sweep or hose off your porch regularly. Just don’t let excess water or moisture hang around.
  • Get yourself a cat or chicken, supposedly they are scorpion killers extraordinaire, who knew.
  • Sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of your house. Contact with this material causes dehydration of their exoskeleton.
  • Keep their food source (other insects) under control.
  • Declutter inside. They love to hide in shoes, blankets, and other dark spots (just typing this makes me anxious).

So, what did I discover to be natural repellents? Essential Oils, specifically Lavender, Cedarwood, Citrus Oils, and Cinnamon. I planted lavender all around our house last year and it’s really taken off. It was completely unintentional, but I’m excited to see if it’s a deterrent. These DIY Sprays are what I’ll be trying:

Lavender and Cedarwood Indoor Spray:

2 Cups Water
25 Drops Lavender
25 Drops Cedarwood
Pinch of Sea Salt

Mix all ingredients in a spray bottle and indoor perimeter of home, especially closets and windows.

Outdoor Scram Spray:

2 Cups Water
25 Drops Lavender
25 Drops Cedarwood
25 Drops Orange (or other citrus oil)
25 Drops of Cinnamon

I’m choosing to use this recipe outside because I read cinnamon is also a natural snake repellent. Our sweet doodle was bit in the face last year and I don’t want that happening again! Do you have a go to scorpion repellent? If so, please share! I’ll take all the advice I can get!

It’s Friday! What are your weekend plans? I shared yesterday we’ll be running a 5K Saturday and we get to take our girls. We’re all pretty excited. Today, I want to share my top five choices for supporting a healthy exercise routine. It was a little hard for me to narrow it down to just five, but here they are:

Agilease – contains frankincense resin powder, undenatured type II collagen,
calcium fructoborate, and a proprietary essential oil blend of wintergreen, copaiba, clove, and Northern Lights Black Spruce. Agilease is the perfect supplement for any age and activity level. It helps ease acute discomfort post workout, but with consistent use you will experience it’s many benefits.

OmegaGize – contains three core daily supplements – omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D-3, and CoQ10. These core supplements are infused with pure clove, German chamomile, and spearmint essential oils: antioxidants, support a healthy response to inflammation. For the longest time I took a plant-based omega. I liked it, but kept hearing good things about OmegaGize. I decided to try it and really liked it. Most importantly there are no fish burps. I also get my daily vitamin D. I’m a user of OmegaGize for life!

PanAway – contains a blend of wintergreen, helichrysum, clove, and peppermint essential oils. I use this oil post workout to ease my muscle and accelerate my recovery. I like to add PanAway to OrthoEase and keep it in my gym bag diluted and ready to use.

Cool Azul is formulated with, listen to this, 10 percent of pure essential oils (that’s 10ml) in every 3.4-oz. tube! Cool Azul’s base is Aloe Vera so it’s super soothing and moisturizing. In addition to Dorado Azul, Cool Azul Gel contains a cooling blend of Peppermint essential oil, menthol, and camphor. This sports gel is my BFF you guys; it lives in my gym bag. I love using it after working out and it pampers my feet like no other after long runs.

Ningxia Nitro contains natural ingredients that can support overall performance. Its benefits come from a wide range of powerful ingredients, including a proprietary blend of pure black pepper, nutmeg, vanilla, chocolate, yerba mate, spearmint, and peppermint essential oils. Combined with these therapeutic-grade essential oils, Bioenergy Ribose® improves physical performance, speeds up recovery, and increases overall energy reserves. Nitro is my workout and midday slump go to. I get all the energy and benefits without the crash.

What are your workout favorites? Share in the comments! Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

DIY – Post Workout Relief

Summer is on the way, friends!  I am so stinking excited for warm weather. We do a lot of 5ks during the warmer months. This allows us to stay in the running groove and avoid long runs in the heat. This weekend we are running the Officer Down 5K in Cashion. It’s being held in memory of Deputy Wade, a member of the Logan County Sheriffs Department who was recently murdered while on duty. He holds a special place in my heart for helping my family during a very stressful time. I’ll forever be grateful for his kindness and we are happy to be able to support his family. You can participate in the OD5K or order a shirt in memory of Deputy Wade here.

Running has long been my stress relief. I’m a bit of a worrier and I’m so thankful running helps bring me peace and quiet my mind. It’s a much anticipated part of my day, I get to focus on the beauty around me, pray, and listen. I recently read the Annie Downs book Looking for Lovely. Running is definitely my time for collecting lovelies. I honestly probably do more stopping, looking, and picture taking than running!

As awesome as running is, it can leave my aging body complaining. My goal is to make sure I’m prepared to put that complainer in its place. This DIY recipe is one of my favorites for post workout discomfort. It contains the essential oils PanAway and Copaiba. It’s pure comfort in a jar. Whip this up and use it a few times; I guarantee you’ll never want to leave home without this gem. PanAway is an essential oil blend that contains wintergreen, clove, peppermint, and helichrysum. It is a great choice for occasional discomfort. Copaiba is a single oil that is steam distilled from the resin of tapped tree. Copaiba oil has many amazing benefits that I encourage you to research. It aids in our bodies natural response to irritation or injury, thus is a great choice for your post workout oily routine.

For your DIY Panaway Cream you will need:

Coconut Oil – 1/4 cup

Panaway Essential Oil – 15 drops

Copaiba Essential Oil – 15 drops

Glass Jar with Lid – I love Kerr 00500 Wide Mouth 8 Oz. Glass Mason Jars – 12 / CS

A cute label – Like these UNI-FAM Chalkboard Labels – 80 Premium Stickers for Jars + 1 Erasable White Chalk Markers.

Enjoy your new workout secret weapon. If you’re feeling generous share the love with your friends!
